District chairmen are responsible for setting up their individual district contests, checking eligibility of chapters and furnishing district contest results and judges for the Area V contest to Glen Blount at Bells by 10 AM, Thursday, November 17, 2011.

  C. Rules: The rules of the State Leadership Development Events as they apply on the Area level will be the official rules of the contest.
  D. Number of Teams: Two teams per district per contest.  If a team is unable to participate, the next eligible team should be notified.
  E. Awards: First four places – Pennants and Sweepstakes – banner 
  F. Entry Fee: $20.00 per team payable at registration to:  Area V FFA (No personal checks!!)

AREA SCHOLARSHIP
State Scholarship Committee Member:

  A. Date Applications Due:  March 1, 2012 by 5 PM
  B. Place:  All Scholarship application must be complete and delivered (NOT POSTMARKED) to Tracy Blum at Howe or Jennifer Jackson at Frisco. 
  C. Any applications not received by 5 PM will not be considered.
  D. An Official Transcript & Financial Aid Report must accompany all scholarship applications.  If these are not provided, the application WILL NOT be considered for a scholarship.
  E. Applications will be pre-scored (except interview) on April 5, 2012 at Howe
  F. Date of Interviews:  April 7, 2012
  G. Place: Howe High School
  H. Interview times will be drawn and advisors will be notified of the interview time for their scholarship candidates.  A request to switch scholarship interview time WILL NOT  be allowed unless approved by the scholarship committee chairman!!
  I. At least on person from each district will be on the Scholarship Committee.

  D. Each district is responsible for sending 15 teachers to Area Degree Check.  Names are to be submitted to Brent Lankford by May 9 with committee preferences.  Please remind teachers that Star Pre Check will be May 12, 8:30 AM with interviews beginning at 1 PM.
  E. Each district must furnish 2 judges for the speaking contest.  Please submit their names and contact information to Sandy Scheu by May 9.
  F. All district chairmen are expected to be a the Area Degree Check until it is over and all information has been properly recorded.

  D. It is HIGHLY recommended that the user name and password by attached to all applications.
  E. Falsification of any application information will result in disqualification of the applicant on the area level.
  F. Teacher having students or family members involved will not be allowed to serve on the interview committees!!
  G. Star Information:  Applications due by 8:30 AM for pre check.  Star interviews will begin at 1 PM. Stars will be interviewed by committees of Production, Placement, Agribusiness & Agriscience. and will be assigned based on the number of applicants in each division and using the following district rotation schedule:
