3. Rules: The rules of the State Leadership Development Events as they apply on the Area level will be the official rules of the contest.
4. Number of Teams: Two teams per district per contest. If a team is unable to participate, the next eligible team should be notified.
5. Awards: First five places – Pennants and Sweepstakes – banner
6. Entry Fee: $40.00 per team will be charged to your judgingcard.com account

9. Each District Chairman is responsible for securing qualified judges for the Area Contest. These judges may be in or out of the area. See chart below:

10. Order of participation:
    
    1. The Greenhand & Senior Quiz must be started between 10 AM & 12 Noon. Quiz contestants must furnish their own scantrons!!
    2. CREED SPEAKING CONTEST: Greenhand & Senior Divisions will begin at 10 AM in the order listed below and will run on 10 minutes intervals. Creed speakers will be sequestered at 9:45 AM and must be in the assigned room no later than 10 AM. Failure to be in assigned room WILL result in the forfeit of the 300 points allotted for questions.
    3. Public Relations & Ag Advocacy will run on 20 minute intervals and Radio on 15 minute interval.
    4. All Job Interview participants will need to at the contest by 8:30 AM to fill out the application portion for the contest.

STATE CAREER DEVELOPMENT EVENTS

1. Qualifying: Qualifying for State CDEs – A minimum of 5 teams and a maximum of 15% of the number of eligible teams participating EXECPT: Ag Mech (3 teams); Ag Sales (3 teams), Tractor Tech (3 teams), Applied Ag Engineering(3 teams).

5. An Official 3½ year Transcript & Financial Aid Report must accompany all scholarship applications. If these are not provided, the application WILL NOT be considered for a scholarship.

7. Each district will have 2 representatives on the scoring committee. Those 2 representatives were selected at Ag Teachers Conference and if they cannot go, they must find their committee replacement to serve.

(Must have two years teaching experience to serve on committee.)

1. District chairmen are responsible for setting up their district degree checks, checking district rosters, seeing that applications from their districts are ready for the Area Check.

3. Each district is to select only one John Justin winner to advance to Area. John Justin & Ryan Mott applicants WILL be interviewed. (One of each per district)
4. Each district is responsible for sending 15 teachers to Area Degree Check. Names are to be submitted to Brent Lankford by April 30 with committee preferences. Please remind teachers that Star Pre Check will be May 9, at 8:30 AM with interviews beginning at 11 AM.
5. Each district must furnish 3 judges for the Area Speaking Contest. Please submit their names and contact information to Sandy Scheu by April 30.
6. All district chairmen are expected to be at the Area Degree Check until it is over and all information has been properly recorded.

AREA ADVANCED DEGREE & AWARDS CHECK

3. All applications must have beem approved by each District Degree Check.
   1. Lonestars, Stars and Proficiencies final applications must be uploaded into AET
   2. John Justin and Ryan Mott will be turned in May 9 by 8:30 AM at Area Degree Check
   3. Chapter Awards, Honorary, ATAT Awards must be turned in online prior to 8:30 AM on May 9
4. Falsification of any application information will result in disqualification of the applicant on the area level.
5. Teacher having students or family members involved will not be allowed to serve on the interview committees!!
6. Star Information: Applications due by 8:30 AM for pre check. Star interviews will begin at 11 AM. Stars will be interviewed by committees of Production, Placement, Agribusiness & Agriscience and will be assigned based on the number of applicants in each division and using the following district rotation schedule:
   District 3 – 1st slot
   District 4 – 2nd slot
   District 5 – 3rd slot
   District 6 – 4th slot
   District 7 – 5th slot
   District 1 – 6th slot
   District 2 – 7th slot

3. Entry: All entries will be made online at judgingcard.com by 6 PM on May 1, 2026. Entries will be charged to your judgingcard account. Entry fee is $20 per contestant. Late entry fee is $120 and will be accepted until 6 PM on May 5, 2026.
4. Required Documents:
           1) Submitted only in PDF Format
           2) Documents should adhere to the following guidelines
                   a. One inch margins on all sides
                   b. 12-point Times New Roman font
                   c. Follow all APA style manual (latest edition)
           3) Required materials include documents that will be included:
                   a. Manuscript (including cover sheet To include Cover Page – Name, Chapter, Category, Event Date)
                   b. Abstract (1-page doublespaced page or less)
                   c. Complete references
                   d. Statement of Originality
                   e. SWCB consultation affidavit form (for Soil Stewardship only)
5. Contest will begin at 10 AM (first extemp speaker will draw at 9:30 AM with subsequent speakers drawing at 15 minute intervals).
6. Number of Participants: Two per district (1st & 2nd place) in all contests EXCEPT Senior Prepared, which will be 1st place only in each category.
